A mixed weekend for the league teams…
The first weekend of football since Christmas brought us 2 wins and 2 losses as the league teams continue to push for promotion. Our under 11’s beat local and title rivals Sale Utd 4-1 and our Under 14’s beat Alderley Utd 7-2 placing them firmly in the title race. Our under 12’s seem to have stalled after Christmas and were beaten by league chasers Timperley Villa 4-1 and our Under 16’s got stuck in the mud against Urmston Meadowside going down 6-2. All the teams stay in the top 4 positions however. Our superb under 8’s travelled to Unicorn Athletic to play 4 friendly games and put on a great performance in all 4 games despite the frosty pitch.
